FDA Clears New Version of PillCam for Esophageal Mucosa

The FDA has approved Given Imaging’s PillCam ESO 3 video capsule for visualization of the esophageal mucosa, according to a news release from the company.

The PillCam ESO 3 capsule has an image capture rate of 35 frames per second, nearly double the rate of the previous PillCam ESO.

 

The company also makes the PillCam SB, which is used for visualization of small bowel mucosa.
