Robert Berman, MD, a general surgeon from Jupiter, Fla., created a prescription gel called Vancogel, which aims to stop the spread of MRSA infections in patients. The gel, which is applied to cuts up to 50 cm deep, differs from traditional MRSA oral treatments and IV medications. The clinical trials will take place from Aug. 1 through December.
