Steris sells applied infection control business to SC Johnson: 4 takeaways

SC Johnson recently acquired Steris' Applied Infection Control business.

Here's what you should know.

 

1. Steris provides infection prevention and surgical procedural products to healthcare organizations.

 

2. The acquisition will boost SC Johnson's commercial skin care, surface cleaning products and surgical preparation portfolio.

 

3. SC Johnson plans to merge Steris into DebMed, which is a subsidiary of Deb Group. Deb Group will use Steris to sell hand hygiene and skin care products to hospitals.

 

4. CEO of Deb Group Bryan Anderson said the acquisition will give the company a foothold in the market and allow for the "widespread adoption of monitoring technology in the coming years."
