Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's outpatient cancer center closer to completion: 4 points

New York City-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center completed the steel construction phase of its new outpatient center — David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care, according to healthcare design.

Here are four points:

1. The center will offer outpatient surgery as well as immunotherapy and early-stage clinical trials.

2. Memorial Sloan Kettering expects to open the facility in 2019.

3. Hospital planners expect 1,300 patients will utilize the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care daily. The center should employ more than 1,600 people.

4. Next stages include enclosing the facility and interior construction.
