7 things for ASC leaders to know for Thursday — March 2, 2017

This week was coupled with news about a leaked Republican replacement plan and financial results for newly formed ASC management company Envision Healthcare.

Here are seven updates for ASC leaders to note:

Envision Healthcare Q4 net revenues hit $1.4B
Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Envision Healthcare Corp. reported net revenues totaling $1.39 billion for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2016. Envision reported a net loss of $137.8 million in Q4 in related costs for its merger with AmSurg.

President Trump lays out principles for upcoming healthcare reform
After saying the ACA was a "disaster," President Donald Trump laid out key measures he wants incorporated into an ACA replacement in his joint address to Congress on Feb. 28, 2017. President Trump wants to retain the ACA's pre-existing condition coverage mandate, requiring payers to offer insurance to people with pre-existing conditions.

SurgCenter Development opens multispecialty ASC
Pismo Beach, Calif.-based SurgCenter Development and physician investors partnered to open an ASC in Grand Rapids, Mich. The multispecialty ASC offers orthopedic, oculoplastic and otorhinolaryngology surgery.

Motus GI completes $30M private placement
New Hope, Pa.-based Motus GI Holdings closed a $30 million private placement. New York City-based Perceptive Advisors were the lead investors in the deal.

Vermont's health plan closely mimics GOP proposal
After the federal government granted Vermont a waiver to redesign its health system in 2016, the state adopted a value-based system similar to what the Republicans' envision for their potential ACA replacement. In 2017, Vermont enrolled 30,000 Medicaid patients into OneCare Vermont, an ACO. The state paid OneCare $93 million in monthly payments for those aforementioned beneficiaries.

GIQuIC includes 1M+ AmSurg center records
AmSurg has contributed more than 1 million records to the GI Quality Improvement Consortium quality registry. The registry allows participants to benchmark their endoscopy facilities against others with real-time procedure-related data.

Northwell Health acquires 20% stake in Surgical Specialty Center of Westchester
Great Neck, N.Y.-based Northwell Health is buying a 20-percent stake in Harrison, N.Y.-based Surgical Specialty Center of Westchester. Northwell could bolster its stake in the ASC to 51 percent within the next five years as per the partnership's terms.
