Pennsylvania Speech Pathologist Accused of Submitting False Claims

Peter Anthony Ferrulli, a speech pathologist who owned and operated Spectrum Therapeutic Services in Wysox, Pa., has been charged with submitting more than $366,000 in false claims, according to a news release by Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett.

Mr. Ferrulli allegedly filed false claims to Medicaid for speech services he claimed to have provided to 57 different patients. Sometimes claims were filed for days he was on vacation, spending time with his children or in the hospital. Those false claims, filed by Mr. Ferrulli between Jan. 2005 and June 2010, amounted to $366,977.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 30.
