Missouri Audiologist Charged With Medicaid Fraud
Dana Opfer, AUD, CCCA, an audiologist from Missouri, has been charged with three counts of Medicaid fraud, according to an announcement by Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster.
Dr. Opfer was charged with submitting false claims to Medicaid for audiology services she never performed with the intention to defraud the state and MO HealthNet. She allegedly fraudulently billed more than $12,000 to Medicaid.
Dr. Opfer is charged with three counts of committing Class C felonies, each punishable by up to seven years in prison plus penalties and restitution.
