B. Braun Enters Into Infusion Therapy Agreement With Amerinet
B. Braun Medical has entered into a new, expanded agreement with Amerinet, a leading national healthcare group purchasing organization that will give Amerinet members access to a full line of B. Braun large and small-volume IV pumps, IV solutions, needle-free products, clinical nutrition, admixture and drug delivery services, according to a B. Braun news release.
The new five-year agreement is effective Nov. 1. Officials from B. Braun said in the release that this the first time Amerinet members will have access to a full line of eco-friendly PVC-free and DEHP-free IV solutions.
One product now available to Amerinet members is B. Braun's advanced SPACE Infusion System, which allows for flexibility and easy transport within a number of care settings and can be used on adult and pediatric patients. The system, designed for higher acuity care facilities, offers a large drug library as well as the capability to build up to 24 pumps in a single bedside tower.
Amerinet members will also have access to B. Braun's Outlook Safety Infusion System, which is designed to ensure the right patient is receiving the right drug and the right dose by an authorized clinician and notifies clinicians if institution-defined dose limits are exceeded. The system also includes DoseScan pump-based barcode technology with automated checks and balances that augment the manual procedures commonly in use.
B. Braun previously entered into an agreement with Amerinet for safety IV catheters.
