8 Questions to Help Physicians Define a Philosophy of Care

Practice Management

In a KevinMD blog post, Rob Lamberts, an internal medicine-pediatrics physician, discusses the three words that can help a physician define a philosophy of care.

The three words are — to what end? Physicians can expand on these three words and define a philosophy of care using the following eight questions:

1. To what end do I prescribe a medication?
2. To what end do I make a diagnosis?
3. To what end do I order tests?
4. To what end am I documenting?
5. To what end is there a patient record?
6. To what end do I send a person to a specialist?
7. To what end do patients need to come to see me in the office?
8. To what end do my patients have me as a doctor?
