Truhlsen Eye Institute Physicians Treat Patients With Nation's Only Supra Laser

Physicians at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha has begun using a new laser that can prevent blindness in some patients suffering from serious eye conditions, according to a News Wise report.
Quan Dong Nguyen, MD, the McGaw Memorial Endowed Chair in ophthalmology and director of the Truhlsen Eye Institute, called the yellow laser the only of its caliber in the country and among only two in the world.

The Supra Scan Multi-Spot Laser is being used to treat retinal vein occlusion, neovascular glaucoma and retinal tears and as a combination therapy for diabetic macular edema.
