Ophthalmologist Dr. William Constad to Receive 'Man of Vision' Honor

Ophthalmologist William Constad, MD, is set to be honored as a "Man of Vision" by the Lions Eye Bank of New Jersey, according to a news release (pdf).

 

Dr. Constad will receive the honor Nov. 15. He is the second recipient of the award from the Lions Eye Bank of New Jersey, a charitable, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of sight.

 

Dr. Constad is the organization's medical director. He is also a clinical professor of ophthalmology at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School, is in private practice with Hudson Eye Physicians and Surgeons and in his own practice in Millburn.

 

"Dr. Constad has shown himself time and time again to be a surgeon, teacher and leader in the field of ophthalmology," said Margaret Chaplin, the Eye Bank's executive director, in the release. "His many accomplishments reflect the Eye Bank's mission to preserve and restore sight."

 

Dr. Constad received his MD from Medical College of Pennsylvania, completed an ophthalmology residency at UMDNJ and a fellowship in diseases and surgeries of the cornea at New York Eye & Ear Infirmary, according to his bio.
