The Surgery Center of Middle Tennessee's Dr. Lee Hunter featured on ElbowLOC device

Lee Hunter, MD, believed there must be a better way to stabilize a patient's arm during elbow surgery than with towels and nurses. Thus, he developed a prototype for an arm stabilizer, founded Hunter Medical in 2009 and launched the ElbowLOC last fall; yesterday Dr. Hunter was featured in the Nashville Business Journal for his development.

Surgeons in about 11 states are now using the ElbowLOC, which is managed by Wheelhouse, with sales efforts handled by Healthcare Resource Partners, according to the Nashville Business Journal.

At a $12,500 price tag, Dr. Hunter believes in his product and feels the efficiency makes up for the price. According to Dr. Hunter, The ElbowLOC saves time before and during the operation.
