Around 67 percent of tech-savvy seniors want to access healthcare services from home, according to a new survey from Accenture.
The survey includes responses from 10,730 adults across 10 countries, including 354 U.S. seniors receiving Medicare benefits.
Here are seven key findings from the survey:
• Sixty-six percent of respondents are worried today's technology isn't sufficient to do allow access to healthcare services from home.
• The top reason for 62 percent of seniors to go online was to find health information.
• More than two-in-three seniors prefer to use self-care technology to independently manage their health.
• More than three-in-five seniors are willing to wear a health-monitoring device to track vital signs, such as heart rate and blood pressure.
• Three-in-five seniors are somewhat or very likely to turn to online communities for reactions to a doctor’s recommendation before acting on it.
• A third of seniors would prefer to work with a patient navigator to manage their healthcare.
• A quarter of seniors regularly use electronic health records for managing their health.
