The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association is reaching out to new members of Congress to connect on healthcare-related issues and arrange ASC tours.
There are more than 60 new members of Congress elected earlier this month and ASCA is working to connect them with ASCs for tours. "The congressional turnover has created opportunities to build new relationships with members of Congress who may not be familiar with the high quality, cost effective care that ASCs provide patients in their state and districts," according to an ASCA Government Affairs Update.
The organization sent a call-to-action last week to ASCs in districts with new representatives and more than 20 centers responded to work with ASCA to set up new tours. ASCA invites ASCs interested in hosting a member of Congress or building a relationship with elected officials to contact Jack Coleman at jcoleman@ascassociation.org.
