Siouxland Surgery Center healthcare administration professional employee Matthew Ung was named Newsmaker of the Year for 2014 by the Sioux City Journal after running a successful campaign to serve in public office.
Mr. Ung took office Nov. 10 as Woodbury County Supervisor. The report heralds Mr. Ung as:
• Willing to "shake things up"
• Representing residents "across the board"
• Planning to "change the culture of the courthouse"
• Planning to make the bill-paying process more transparent
Mr. Ung made it clear in the report he is "honored to serve" and was able to win support despite a few controversies along the way. Siouxland Surgery Center is AAAHC-accredited and includes otolaryngology, gastroenterology, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, orthopedics and pain management.
