S.D. could see $4.3B funding increase to healthcare providers

Black Hills FOX is reporting the South Dakota legislative session passed a $4.3 billion budget, voted 55 to nine in The House and 30 to two in the Senate.

Many providers will see an increase of up to 2.5 percent in mental health centers, nursing homes and other Medicaid-reliant facilities.

"We're going to have to spend more money on those that are getting older, and our senior population is important, the priority is very important and so that was a big piece of the budget, was finding long–term care dollars to be able to provide for that part of our community based service providers," said Jeff Partrige of South Dakota House District 32 to Black Hills FOX.
