Patient & staff safety: 4 best practices for ASCs

Establishing and following safety protocols for patients and for staff is an imperative step for any ambulatory surgery center, and here are four best practices for ensuring safety at an ASC, according to an abeo blog post:

1. Develop a program that is largely completed through rounding.

2. Use a manual or an electronic spreadsheet to show the amount of time spent in infection control activities by your infection control nurse, other staff as well as management.

3. Use other resources such as your nearby hospital or your management company as extra help for your infection control nurse.

4. No matter who manages your cleaning staff, it is important they understand their role in infection control.
