Marymount Hospital Surgery Center Granted LEED Certification

Cleveland Clinic's Marymount Hospital new three-story Surgery Center opened its doors in March of 2012 and has earned LEED certification from the US Green Building Council for energy saving, efficient water usage, recycling efforts, improved air quality and several design features, according to an Electric Light & Power report.

The 45,000-square-foot surgery center includes seven operating rooms and one procedure room. LEED certification is granted to high-performance buildings that strive to find ways to conserve energy and work towards a healthy environment. Twelve other Cleveland Clinic health system buildings have earned LEED certification.
