HCA, SCA, USPI & More – 5 Recent Key Notes on ASC M&D Companies

Here are five news updates on ambulatory surgery center management and development companies.

Hospital Corporation of America reported $424 million in profit for its fourth quarter, up 35 percent from the same period in 2012. HCA's revenue for 2013 increased 3.5 percent to $34.2 billion.

Surgical Care Affiliates announced its fourth quarter and year-end financial results. The company reported its total net operating revenues were up 10.1 percent from $197.6 million to $217.5 million in its fourth quarter. Net operating revenues for the year-end increased 7.7 percent from $744.9 million to $802 million.

Nueterra Healthcare partnered with Michael Crovetti, MD, and his Total Joint Outpatient Program and Care Suites model in Henderson, Nev. The care delivery model is designed to improve outpatient hip and knee replacement.

Jacksonville Beach (Fla.) Surgery Center, affiliated with Symbion, acquired the Fuse endoscopy system. The center is one of the first providers in the state to acquire the endoscopy technology.

The Oregon Patient Safety Commission honored Northwest Ambulatory Surgery Center, affiliated with United Surgical Partners International, for exceeding targets on patient safety reporting.
