Overall, physicians will likely see a 2.4 percent increase in salary next year. Group-based physicians can expect a larger increase, at 3.7 percent, than hospital-based physicians, who will see a 2.2 percent increase, according to the Hay Group's 2013 physician compensation survey.
Other findings from the study include:
• As an overall group, physicians can expect a 2.4 percent increase in salary next year.
• 63 percent of physicians have annual incentive plans this year, compared to 64 percent last year.
• This year, 77 percent of annual incentive plans were related to patient satisfaction.
