Graymark Healthcare, which recently acquired Foundation Surgical Hospital Affiliates and Foundation Surgery Affiliates, reported its third quarter financial results.
The company reported a 103 percent increase in revenue to $25 million, compared to $12.3 million over the same period last year. Patient services revenue increased 148 percent to $13 million during the second quarter, primarily due to the patient services revenue at the company's El Paso hospital and increase in the average reimbursement per surgical case at Foundation Hospital of San Antonio.
Operating expenses were $44.3 million, an increase from $10.6 million during the same period last year, primarily due to the increase of salaries and operations at the hospitals. Net loss attributable to Graymark Healthcare for the third quarter was $16.5 million.
