Getting your ASC online: 4 tips

Ambulatory surgery centers have the potential to attract new patients and build trust amongst existing patients when they have a strong online presence, according to a NextServices report.

NextServices, a healthcare management company, have four recommendations to help your ASC be more web-friendly.

  1. Build a website. First and foremost, have a website that explains the services you provide, types of insurance accepted, patient forms and education material, physician profiles and contact information. Being able to schedule appointments online also increases patient engagement.

  2. Be social. Build your presence by being active on social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and YouTube. Using social media allows you to attract new customers and build relationships. Google Local even allows you to attract patients in your area.

  3. Be mobile. Since smartphones and mobile tablets are so popular, making sure your digital presence is optimized for mobile devices is essential. Using web-responsive design or having an entirely separate mobile website can ensure that your site loads quickly and can provide information for your clients.

  4. Grow patient engagement. Increasing engagement is easy with patient portals and EHRs that allow patients to review and update their medical information. You can also encourage patient recommendations on physician forums and publish weekly newsletters using your site or social media channels.
