FirstHealth of the Carolinas Presents Plans for New Surgery Center
FirstHealth of the Carolinas presented plans to build a $3.5 million ASC in Raeford, N.C., to the Hoke County Board of Commissioners, according to a report in The Fayetteville Observer.
FirstHealth filed a request to build with the state in August. If approved, construction will begin in 2010 and completed by 2011, according to the report. The new surgery center would be adjacent to the health system's proposed eight-bed hospital.
FirstHealth is currently competing wit Cape Fear Valley Health System to build a hospital in Hoke County. The state will make its decision on the hospital in November.
