Akron (Ohio) Children's Hospital named Gregory Benson, MD, medical director of its new outpatient surgical center, according to a Hudson Hub Times report.
The surgery center, which is slated to open in May, will feature six operating rooms and offer surgical services in ENT, ophthalmology, urology, dental and plastic surgery.
Dr. Benson is a pediatric anesthesiologist, and he previously served as medical director of the Dental Surgery Center and co-director of pediatric ambulatory anesthesia services at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and has completed a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
