Detroit Medical Center Surgery Hospital remains closed after floods

Crain's Detroit Business reports the Detroit Medical Center Surgery Hospital in Madison Heights remains closed, half a year after torrential rains flooded the facility in mid-August.

The hospital, which opened in 2003 as Michigan Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital, is licensed as an ambulatory surgery center under 198-bed DMC Huron Valley-Sinai in Commerce Township.

The 198-bed facility opened its doors in 2003, then known as the Michigan Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital.
