Cataract Outsourcing, an online, peer-reviewed general medical journal providing information about cataract surgery, has posted a story discussing whether a facility should enter into arrangements such as “per-click” and physician/vendor kickback agreements.
The column includes insight and analysis from Scott Becker of McGuireWoods, and discusses whether it is wise to enter into such arrangements considering the potential for violations of the Medicare anti-kickback fraud and abuse statute and the Stark Act, and legal precedents.
