AmSurg 3Q Revenue Jumps 19% to $268k
AmSurg President and CEO Christopher A. Holden reported the company's third quarter financial results with a 19 percent increase in revenue.
Revenue was up to $268.2 million in the third quarter, compared to $224.9 million over the same period last year. The net earnings from continuing operations attributable to the company's common shareholders rose 12 percent to $17 million for the quarter.
Over the first nine months of this year, the company reported a 17 percent increase in revenue and 14 percent increase in net earnings from contributing operations attributable to AmSurg common shareholders.
Mr. Holden attributed the growth primarily to the 17 centers AmSurg acquired last year and five centers added in 2013. During the third quarter the company acquired two centers, divested one center and merged two others, bringing the total centers under AmSurg operation to 243. Another five centers have signed a letter of intent.
Based on the third quarter report, Mr. Holden expects to produce double-digit growth this year despite reimbursement issues and other uncertainties in the industry.
