Blue Shield of California partners with Global One Ventures to launch the Bundled Fee Program for ASCs
The program is designed for facility, surgeon and anesthesiologist alignment to promote higher quality care in the low cost setting. AmSurg net revenue jumps 12%, growth exceeds expectations
AmSurg reported a huge net revenue increase in the first quarter of 2015. The company completed four acquisitions in the first quarter — two ambulatory surgery centers, two radiology groups and an anesthesia practice servicing one of the ASCs. TriState Centers for Sight acquires MidWest EyeCenter
TriState will employ 20 of the physicians currently at MidWest EyeCenter who have expertise in cataract and refractive surgery, glaucoma, retina and cornea procedures. The acquisition adds an AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery center and refractive laser vision center.

Excelsior Orthopaedics gains approval for $9M expansion
Excelsior and Matrix Development plan to build a 27,690-square-foot structure at their 3915 Sheridan Drive which will house orthopedic services, pain management and ophthalmology as well as eventually gastroenterology. In addition, Excelsior was 'granted relief from requirements for green space and minimum setbacks from neighboring homes,' reports The Buffalo News.

Dr. Nameer Haider to open NY ASC
The new outpatient surgery center in South Utica, N.Y., will be called Omni Surgical Center and will be owned by Nameer Haider, MD, a spine- and pain-focused physician. October is the expected open date.

Driscoll Children's Hospital's $80M renovation project includes surgical center
Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, is adding a building as part of an $80 million renovation project, which will include an outpatient surgical center, according to an Action 10 KZTVreport. Staff will operate the outpatient surgery center and outpatient laboratory on the first floor of the new building.

NESS Plastic Surgery in Wayzata, Minn., receives accreditation

The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities conducted the accreditation survey earlier this year. The surgery center includes breast, facial and body procedures as well as a medical spa and lead by president and surgeon John A. Ness, MD.
