Republican Senators propose PPACA replacement.
Sens. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) and Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) have introduced legislation that has the potential to repeal and replace the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Prescott Vision & Eye Surgery Center expands.
Prescott (Ariz.) Vision & Eye Surgery Center added an office to its Yavapai Regional Medical Center East Campus. The new center will include onsite testing for more than 60 allergies.

Brookside Surgery Center partners with Bronson Battle Creek.
Meridian Surgical Partners, LLC is pleased to announce that its Battle Creek, Mich. facility, Brookside Surgery Center, LLC, has partnered with Bronson Battle Creek, a subsidiary of Bronson Healthcare. This is the first hospital partnership for Meridian Surgical Partners. The facility will continue to operate as Brookside Surgery Center.

House SGR bill would cost $121.1B.
A House Ways and Means Committee bill that aims to repeal and replace Medicare's sustainable growth rate formula would cost $121.1 billion from 2014 to 2023. The House committee approved the bill last month.

Specialty Surgical Center completes Armstrong Institute patient safety training.
Specialty Surgical Center, based in Sparta, N.J., recently completed training through the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety at Johns Hopkins University. The center's staff now plans to update their patient safety protocols by looking at the Science of Safety.

Many ASC start times occur within 7 minutes of scheduled time.
More than half of ASCs report that at least 70 percent of cases begin within seven minutes of the scheduled procedure time, according to a report by the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association. The report also reveals ASC patient satisfaction scores to be 92 percent.

Global market for ophthalmology devices, drugs to reach $52.6B by 2017.
A recent MarketsandMarkets report projects that the global ophthalmology drugs and devices market will reach $52.6 billion by 2017. North America is largest market sector, according to the report.
