Temporary Debt Limit Extension Act would fund SGR repeal and extend sequestration cuts.
House Republicans released the text of the Temporary Debt Limit Extension Act, a bill that would raise the debt limit, fund the repeal of Medicare's sustainable growth rate and extend sequestration. Read the full report on Becker's Hospital Review.

Roanoke Valley Center for Sight seeks state approval for expansion.
Roanoke Valley Center for Sight in Salem, Va., currently has a two-operating room surgery center. The center is seeking state approval to build a third operating room in Roanoke, Va. If the center receives a certificate of need, the $350,000 project would reach completion in January 2016.

Christenbury Eye Center adds new laser to improve LASIK treatment.
Christenbury Eye Center in Charlotte, N.C., added the Zeiss MEL 80 Excimer Laser to improve LASIK treatment. The laser is designed to reshape the cornea and eliminate the need for contact lens.

ASA announces tests and procedures for Choosing Wisely campaign.
The American Society of Anesthesiologists has released two lists of tests and procedures that physicians and their patients should question and discuss, as part of the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation's Choosing Wisely Campaign.

AAAHC accredits Central Florida Surgical Center.
The multispecialty Central Florida Surgical Center in Ocoee has successfully completed an Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care survey.

Providers more prepared for ICD-10 diagnosis codes than procedural codes.
Providers appear to be more hesitant to learn ICD-10-PCS than ICD-10-CM, even though the procedural codes are more complex than the diagnosis codes, according to an EHR Intelligence report. ICD-10-PCS demands twice the amount of time training than ICD-10-CM.

Amerinet launches strategic savings program.
Amerinet announced that it is launching the Amerinet Strategic Savings Program, which offers members the option to participate in a portfolio of sole source committed contracts that would result in savings of up 25 percent.
