Physicians Clinic of Iowa urologist Arthur W. Devine, Jr., MD, recently commented on the cost savings the Surgery Center of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has generated since opening 10 years ago. The center has saved patients $14 million and their insurers $55 million.
AAAHC Institute of Quality releases 3 new toolkits.
The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care Institute for Quality has announced three new toolkits available for free download. The toolkits focus on surgical checklists, venous thromboembolism and preventing patient falls.
Campbell Clinic acquires Memphis surgery center.
Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics has acquired Midtown Surgery Center in Memphis, Tenn. Campbell Clinic has three locations in Tennessee and one in Mississippi.
Peak One Surgery Center provides care to underserved population.
Peak One Surgery Center in Frisco, Colo., recently participated in the fourth annual Community Surgery Day. Nine surgeons and 50 other healthcare professionals volunteered to provide underserved patients with knee, shoulder, gynecology and hernia surgeries.
Meridian Surgical Partners appoints new executives.
Meridian Surgical Partners announced that John C. Wilson, Jr. has been appointed the role of chief executive officer and Jim Uden has assumed the role of executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Castleview Hospital acquires Utah ASC.
Castleview Hospital has acquired Eastern Utah Surgical Center, effective Oct. 1. The surgery center has now been renamed Castleview Hospital Surgery Center.
Thomas Jefferson Riverview Surgical Center acquires robotic system for partial knee replacement surgery.
The Thomas Jefferson Riverview Surgical Center at the Navy Yard in Philadelphia is the first ASC to acquire the Navio robotic surgical system from Blue Belt Technologies. The system is designed to aid surgeons during partial knee replacement surgery.
