Fuse endoscopy system detects 69% more precancerous polyps.
EndoChoice announced results of a comparison study between its Fuse endoscopy system and traditional forward-viewing colonoscopes. The study found that standard colonoscopes miss 41 percent of adenomas and the Fuse endoscopy system detects 69 percent more adenomas than traditional colonoscopes.

Medical Facilities Corp. names new board of directors member.
Medical Facilities Corporation named David Bellaire, a senior advisory partner to Bain & Company, to its board of directors. Mr. Bellaire has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry.

Stool-based DNA test detects 92% of colorectal cancers.
Exact Sciences announced the results of its DeeP-C clinical study comparing the efficacy of Cologuard, a multi-target stool DNA-based screening test, to the fecal immunochemical test. The study found that Cologuard detected 92 percent of colorectal cancer, while FIT detected 74 percent.

Major private payers prepared for ICD-10.
UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield and Humana will be prepared for the ICD-10 transition, according to an American Academy of Family Physicians survey.

Jeff Barnhart named administrator of Northwest Texas Surgery Center.
Effective March 3, Jeff Barnhart became the administrator of Northwest Texas Surgery Center in Amarillo. Prior to his current role, Mr. Barnhart was the CEO and administrator of St. Joseph Health Center in Bellville, Texas.
