The Senate's budget plan, chaired by Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), looks to repeal the SGR and restore Medicare funding for the 2 percent reimbursement cuts enacted by the sequester.

President Barak Obama has meet with Republican lawmakers and thinks their proposals for Medicare and Medicaid may represent too large of a difference to reconcile with the budget Congress will be able to pass.
Healthcare Price at Growth Lowest in 15 Years.
National healthcare expenditure grew at annual rate of 4.1 percent between January 2012 and January 2013, but in January 2013 healthcare prices were only 1.5 percent higher than the previous year. This is the lowest healthcare price growth to occur since December 1997.
Tulsa Ambulatory Procedure Center Opens.
Tulsa (Okla.) Ambulatory Procedure Center has gained State licensing and opened to the public. The center offers cosmetic surgery and pain management services.
Kalispell Regional Medical Center Opens $42M Surgical Center.
Kalispell (Mont.) Regional Medical Center's new $42 million, four-story surgical center has opened to the public. The center has 18 same-day surgery beds, 18 post-anesthesia beds and two endoscopy rooms.
Excela Health Plans New Ambulatory Care Center.
The health system Excela Health has been approved by the Unity, Pa., planning commission to construct an 114,000-square-foot surgery center. The Latrobe Ambulatory Care Center is expected to be finished in 2014.
