Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam honors colorectal cancer awareness.
Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam proclaimed March 7 as "Dress in Blue Day" to promote colorectal cancer awareness. AmSurg physician partner Kevin Finnegan, MD, presented the governor with a colon cancer awareness t-shirt.
Pennsylvania ASCs partners with state Patient Safety Authority.
A group of Pennsylvania ASCs and the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority have collaborated successfully on nursing protocols to reduce day-of-surgery cancellations. The PPSCA and 11 ASCs in the state have collaborated for 18 months thus far and reached a 9.7 percent reduction in DOS cancellations.
Northstar Healthcare 4Q patient revenue up 108%.
Northstar Healthcare announced its fourth quarter and year-end financial results. The company's fourth quarter patient services revenue was $13.5 million, up 108.7 percent and its year-end net patient services revenue was $31.1 million, up 49 percent.
AGA, Pfizer announce $200k Grant for IBD research.
The American Gastroenterological Association Research Foundation and Pfizer announced the AGA-Pfizer JAK-IBD Research Grant, which would provide up to $100,000 per year for two years. The application deadline for the grant is June 6.
Surgery Center Network partners with Kempton Group.
Surgery Center Network, a comprehensive network of ASCs, announced a new partnership with third-party administrator The Kempton Group. Through the partnership, The Kempton Group will implement SCN's services for its clients. White House extends deadline for non-PPACA compliant plans again.
