Orange Park Surgery Center adds hip replacement procedure.
Orange Park SurgCenter in Florida recently added anterior-supine intermuscular hip replacement to its list of procedures. The entire procedure takes approximately 45 minutes.

Washington Health System to open surgery center.
Washington Health System intends to open its new, 50,000-square-foot outpatient surgery center in South Strabane Township, Pa., in October. The center will have four operating bays and three procedure rooms.

Dr. Steve Traina performs surgery on Denver Nugget' forward at Midtown Surgical Center.
Steve Traina, MD, recently performed ACL reconstruction on the Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari at Midtown Surgical Center. Dr. Traina serves as the Nuggets team orthopedic surgeon.

Lincoln Orthopaedic Center expands surgery center.
The Lincoln Orthopaedic Center recently added an operating room and procedure room to its surgery center. The expansion was part of a larger project, which included the addition of added exam rooms and patient waiting space.

AAAHC to release updated handbook on March 1.
The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care announced that it will release its new, updated accreditation handbook on March 1. The primary contact for each accredited organization will receive an email by March 1 with a code for a free electronic copy of the handbook.

U.S. uninsured rate drops 1.2 percent in past year.
The U.S uninsured rate dropped from 17.3 percent in December 2013 to 16.1 percent this month, according to the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index. The uninsured rate declined the most, 6.7 percent, among the unemployed population.

Market for business process outsourcing to be worth $189B by 2018.
The healthcare BPO market, including medical coding, billing, claims processing and more, is expected to reach a value of $189 billion by 2018, a 10.8 percent increase from its current value of $92.3 billion.
