Here are seven recent news updates on ambulatory surgery center management and development companies.

United Surgical Partners International has announced it will share its fourth quarter and year-end 2013 financial results on Feb. 27.

Harold L. Paz, MD, CEO of Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Health System, has joined the United Surgical Partners International board of directors.

Nueterra Global Alliance has partnered with Texas Institute for Surgery. The partnership was finalized in December 2013.

Jane Englebright, PhD, RN, has been appointed to the Joint Commission board of commissioners. Dr. Englebright is the CNO, patient safety officer and vice president for the Clinical Services Group at Hospital Corporation of America.

Ten months ago, Sue Carocari became the administrator of River Valley ASC in Norwich, Conn. Ms. Carocari also serves as the center's director of nursing. River Valley ASC is affiliated with Merritt Healthcare.

Barry McElyea, BSN, RN, has stepped into the role of director of nursing at a Surgem surgery center.

Lou Greenwald, the Assembly Majority Leader for the New Jersey Assembly, recently visited The Endo Center at Voorhees (N.J.), which is affiliated with AmSurg.
