The average freestanding ambulatory surgery center has 4.62 Medicare-approved operating rooms per 100,000 population, according to an article published in LexisNexis.

According to the report, the states with the highest number of operating rooms in freestanding ASCs per 100,000 population:

1. Arizona
2. Delaware
3. Florida
4. Idaho
5. Indiana
6. Maryland
7. Mississippi
8. Nevada
9. Tennessee
10. Washington
11. Wyoming
