Sandra Bruce, MSHA, has been appointed President and CEO of Resurrection Health Care, Chicago. She succeeds Joseph F. Toomey, who is retiring after 16 years of service to Resurrection. She will begin her new position on Nov. 3.
Ms. Bruce has a wealth of healthcare leadership experience, serving in chief executive officer positions for more than 25 years and in key roles for several state and national health care associations, commissions and task forces. Ms. Bruce is currently President and CEO of Saint Alphonsus in Boise, Idaho, an an integrated healthcare system that has created the largest primary care network in the state. She was previously President and CEO of Mercy General Health Partners in Muskegon, Mich., a combined healthcare system formed through a joint operating agreement between the Muskegon Mercy Community Health Care System and Muskegon General Hospital. Ms. Bruce is immediate past chair of the Board of Trustees of the Catholic Health Association and served as past chair of the Michigan Health and Hospital Association, and the Idaho Hospital Association. In addition, she is a past member of the American Hospital Association Region VIII and Region V Policy Boards. She was one of five hospital CEO members of the American Hospital Association Commission on Workforce, and chaired the AHA Section for Aging and Long Term Care Services. |
