Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati will soon become a joint venture with physicians in a restructuring that participants in the partnership hope will appeal to doctors and help bring a financial turnaround for the struggling hospital, according to the Business Courier of Cincinnati.

The joint venture will see Deaconess Associations, the hospital’s parent organization, owning 60 percent and doctors owning 40 percent of the hospital, which may be renamed Doctors’ Hospital at Deaconess.

The CEO of the hospital has indicated that the venture will likely include about 100 physicians, both primary-care providers and specialists, with some of the doctors possibly taking on management roles, according to the Business Courier of Cincinnati.
