Surgery Center of Evendale in Cincinnati has added 29 inpatient rooms following a $9 million and has recently received accreditation as a hospital from the Joint Commission, meaning the physician-owned facility can now keep patients overnight, according to the Business Courier of Cincinnati.

The organization eventually anticipates seeing 100 inpatients per month, comprising 10-15 percent of its case volume, according to the report.

"We are very proud of our physician partners in Evendale,” says Donald Jansen, MHA, vice president of marketing and development for Prexus Health, which manages the facility. “They have been courageous and are going to be very successful as a hospital.”
