Here are 12 ambulatory surgery centers that have been open for 10 years or less.

Center for Ambulatory and Minimally Invasive Surgery (Eatontown, N.J.). The Center for Ambulatory and Minimally Invasive Surgery (CAMIS) is a multispecialty center with two ORs and two endoscopy rooms. Opened in November 2011, CAMIS is located near the Jersey Shore and is part of the greater NYC metropolitan area. The center has 30 physician partners and over 45 medical staff members. The ASC is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and licensed by Medicare and the state of New Jersey.

Comprehensive Orthopaedic Global ASC (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands).  During June 2013, Comprehensive Orthopaedic Global opened its ambulatory surgery center. The center is currently staffed by two board-certified orthopedic surgeons, a board-certified podiatrist and two board-certified anesthesiologists. The center offers orthopedic and podiatric outpatient surgery. As of October 2013 the Center was granted accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The Center provides services for many islands throughout the Caribbean. Fred Woestmann, CASC, serves as the center's administrator.

Foothills Surgery Center (Boulder, Colo.). Foothills Surgery Center opened in 2013 with four operating rooms and one procedure room. The center is accredited by Medicare and The Joint Commission. Its physicians perform neurosurgery, general surgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry, urology, ENT and pain management procedures. Foothills Surgery Center is managed by PINNACLE III.

Imperial Surgical Center (Fullerton, Calif.). Imperial Surgical Center opened in 2012. The surgery center is a part of the Regional Pain Treatment Medical Center, an interventional pain management practice founded by Alvaro Liceaga, MD, board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician. The practice includes a total of three ambulatory surgery centers. Imperial Surgical Center offers orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, spine surgery, pain management, podiatry and general surgery. Dr. Liceaga also serves as the center's medical director. The surgery center is accredited by the Joint Commission.

Marion Eye Surgery Center (Mt. Vernon, Ill.). Marion Eye Surgery Center opened in 2009. The center offers a number of cataract and retina procedures. It is one of the first facilities in the region focused on ophthalmological procedures. The center is accredited by AAAHC. "The group of surgeons at the Marion Eye Surgery Center have been providing eye care in Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri for more than 35 years," says Lorianne Raynor, administrator of the surgery center.

Northwoods Surgery Center (Woodruff, Wis.). Northwoods Surgery Center opened in 2008 with two operating rooms. The Center is accredited by Medicare and Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Physicians perform orthopedic, ophthalmology, gastrointestinal surgery, podiatry, venous, facial plastic, pain management and general surgical procedures at Northwoods Surgery Center.  The center is managed by PINNACLE III.

Orangewood Surgical Center (Orange, Calif.). Orangewood Surgical Center opened in 2008. The ASC was founded by Alvaro Liceaga, MD, board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician. Orangewood Surgical Center is one of three ASCs included in Dr. Liceaga's practice, Regional Pain Treatment Medical Center. He serves as the medical director all three surgery centers. The center offers orthopedics, pain management, spine, podiatry and general surgery procedures. Orangewood Surgical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission.

Pine Ridge Surgery Center (Wausau, Wis.). Pine Ridge Surgery Center, a three-operating room surgery center, opened in 2010.  The center is accredited by Medicare and Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Physicians primarily focus on cardiovascular, general surgery and urology procedures. Pine Ridge Surgery Center is managed by PINNACLE III.

Skyline Endoscopy Center (Loveland, Colo.). Skyline Endoscopy Center opened in December 2004. The center performs primarily colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. The four Skyline Endoscopy Center physicians, all board-certified gastroenterologists, perform an average of 360 cases per month. Skyline Endoscopy Center is managed by PINNACLE III.

Snowden River Surgery Center (Ellicott City, Md.). Snowden River Surgery Center opened in May 2005. The center is physician-owned. The partners include Jay Grochmal, MD, Paul Tarantino, MD, Sandra Cho, MD, Connie McRill, MD, Jeffrey Wexler, MD, and Marjorie Warden, MD. Dr. Grochmal serves as the medical director of the facility. The ASC performs mainly cataract surgery, but also offers glaucoma surgery and oculoplastic surgery. "We are among the few centers in Maryland offering the latest advancement in performing cataract surgery using a Femtosecond laser," says Katie Guglietta, RN, clinical director of Snowden River Surgery Center. "Our doctors pride themselves on remaining leaders in advanced technology and providing a patient safety-focused environment for all surgeries."

The Surgery Center at Lutheran (Wheat Ridge, Colo.). The Surgery Center at Lutheran, a 15,000 square foot facility, opened in 2006. The center has four ORs and one procedure room. A joint venture with a local hospital system, the Center is accredited by Medicare and AAAHC. In addition to orthopedics, physicians perform general surgery, gynecology, ENT, pain management, podiatry and plastic surgery procedures at The Surgery Center at Lutheran, which is managed by PINNACLE III.

Wooster (Ohio) Ambulatory Surgery Center. Wooster Ambulatory Surgery Center opened in 2008. The center offers ENT, gastroenterology, general surgery, OB/GYN, oral surgery, orthopedics, pain management and podiatry services. The ASC has hosted more than 12,000 procedures since its opening. James Gesler, MD, serves as the center's medical director and Victoria Caillet serves as administrator. The ASC held an open house in August to celebrate National ASC Day.
