CMS approved the National Interventional Pain Management - Qualified Clinical Data Registry for the 2017 reporting year.
Here are five things to know:
1. The National Interventional Pain Management - Qualified Clinical Data Registry is designed to help pain physicians meet regulatory requirements for quality reporting in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System under the CMS Qualified Payment Program.
2. The registry was built to capture and analyze clinically relevant data for interventional pain physicians and participating physicians can adjust their 2017 performance to improve patient outcomes and optimize reimbursement under the CMS Qualified Payment Program.
3. Participating physicians won't be subject to quality reporting penalties in the future and will be in position to take advantage of incentives as they become larger.
4. The registry includes general MIPS measures and nine specialty-specific measures, which the American Society for Interventional Pain Physicians developed.
5. ASIPP is partnering with healthcare intelligence solutions provider ArborMetrix on the registry to make the features and reports easier for physicians to navigate. The registry will provide real-time reports available on-demand for easy physician access.
