American Vision Partners aims for national growth: 5 things to know

Phoenix-based American Vision Partners launched in April and has big plans to expand nationally.

Here are five things to know:

1. The ophthalmic management company now includes two Phoenix-based centers: Barnet Dulaney Perkins and Southwestern Eye Center. American Vision Partners selected both companies due to their reputation for quality and patient service.

2. The two ophthalmic groups currently have more than 40 locations in Arizona and New Mexico, and now American Vision Partners plans to expand onto the national stage.

3. Kyle Bohanan, President and CEO of American Vision Partners, has previous experience with FastMed Urgent Care. He played a role in the company's fast expansion and plans to use similar strategies with American Vision Partners, such as limiting growth to just organic expansion and aligning with high quality acquisition partners.

4. In the highly fragmented ophthalmology market, Mr. Bohannon believes there is opportunity for consolidation and hopes his company can lead the way.

5. Private equity firm HIG Capital funded American Vision Partners; the amount of funding is undisclosed.
