American Nurses Credentialing Center recognizes Bethesda Surgery Center for nursing excellence: 3 takeaways

The American Nurses Credentialing Center recognized Montgomery, Ohio-based Bethesda Surgery Center for meeting its Magnet program's standards of excellence, according to Cincinnati Business Courier.

Here are three takeaways:

1. The ASC is one of two Cincinnati-based TriHealth's medical centers receiving recognition. Hamilton, Ohio-based Bethesda Butler Hospital also met the program's standards of excellence.

2. The orthopedic-driven surgery center offers procedures like knee surgery, orthopedic trauma and fracture surgery and spine injections.

3. The American Nurses Credentialing Center, an American Nurses Association subsidiary, awarded 452 healthcare organizations magnet recognition. The center also re-certified five other TriHealth locations as magnet centers.

"This is a validation of the high level of nursing excellence in our organization," said Mary Irvin, MSN, TriHealth's chief nurse executive for TriHealth, to Cincinnati Business Courier. "Magnet re-designation for five locations and the first-time designation for Bethesda Butler Hospital and Bethesda Surgery Center speaks volumes about our health system's ability to provide the very best care to our patients and families."
