Throughout the United States, registered nurses have varying salaries depending on where they practice.

Bureau of Labor Statistics lists the following U.S. regions as the top 10 for highest RN salary, on average, based on data collected in May 2015.

1. California — $101,260
2. Hawaii — $90,130
3. Massachusetts — $88,650
4. Alaska — $88,510
5. Oregon — $83,800
6. Nevada — $81,460
7. New Jersey — $79,840
8. Washington, D.C. — $79,560
9. New York — $78,950
10. Washington: $78,130
