Daschle, Kennedy Widow to Head $125M Campaign Boosting Reform Law
Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and Victoria Kennedy, the widow of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, will be named co-chairmen of a $125 million campaign to defend the health reform law, according to a report by Politico.
The new Health Information Center, founded by Andrew Grossman, a veteran Democratic operative, aims to solidify weak public support for the new law.
Sen. Kennedy was a long-term advocate of health reform. Mr. Daschle, who wrote a 2008 book advocating health reform, was President Obama's original choice to oversee the reform effort, but he withdrew his nomination due to his connection with lobbyists.
