The Florida Center for Gastroenterology in Largo is featured in a report by local television station Bay News 9 for the center's use of the SmartPill digestion test.
The SmartPill provides gastric emptying time, small bowel transit time, colonic transit time, combined small and large bowel transit time and whole gut transit time, as well as characterizing pressure patterns and providing motility indices for the antrum and duodenum, according to the SmartPill website.
The GI center is the first in the Bay County area to use the technology, according to the report.
