Shire and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center have created a three-year partnership to focus on developing therapies for rare diseases with unmet need, according to a Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News report.
Shire will make an initial payment to the medical center, with additional opportunity to fund a number of research programs, according to the report.
The research partnership will be focused on rare disease in areas such as gastroenterology, nephrology and neurology.
