S.C. BlueCross Provides Funds to Promote Colorectal Cancer Screening in Uninsured
BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina has set aside $20,000 to fund colorectal cancer screenings for uninsured patients through the South Carolina Gastroenterology Association and the University of South Carolina's Cancer Research Center, according to a news release from S.C. BlueCross.
The funding is part of the health insurer's push to get members to receive fully covered preventative screening as well as to support screening for those without insurance, according to the release. This year, BlueCross is partnering with S.C. Gastroenterology Association and CVS Caremark for the campaign.
In previous year, the BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Foundation has funded screenings for the uninsured in Anderson, Abbeville, Laurens and Greenwood counties, according to the release.
