Olympus Introduces GIF-H180J HD Gastroscope
Olympus, a precision technology leader, has introduced the GIF-H180J scope, a 9.9-mm gastroscope that delivers HDTV image quality and Narrow Band Imaging for upper gastrointestinal screening, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, according to an Olympus news release.
The GIF-H180J features an auxiliary water channel that flushes away blood, mucus and other debris inside the upper GI, helping to ensure a clear view at all times. When combined with the optional OFP Flushing pump, the scope allows for faster, more convenient irrigation of the visual field, according to the release.
The new scope also features four-way angulation, a 2.8-mm instrument channel inside the scope and an extra-wide 140° field of view to enable a comprehensive examination of the upper GI tract, according to the release. HDTV and NBI capabilities also provide enhanced imaging. A Scope ID function stores individual scope information using a built-in memory chip, which displays data on a monitor.
